Rodney M. Robards, DVM

Dr. Robards is a full-time practitioner and owner of Southern Hills Veterinary Hospital, Inc. A native of Tulsa, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences from Oklahoma State University before his acceptance into the highly regarded veterinary program at OSU School of Veterinary Medicine. He was awarded his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1989. After gaining valuable experience working as an associate veterinarian at animal hospitals in Georgia and Arkansas, Dr. Robards returned home and purchased Southern Hills in 1991. In addition to general medicine, he has professional interests in laser surgery, endoscopy, and orthopedics.

A member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Tulsa Chapter of the Veterinary Medical Association and the Oklahoma Veterinary Medical Association, Dr. Robards is a committed professional. Equally dedicated to community involvement, he is a member of the Rotary Club of Tulsa, a Deacon at his church, a board member of the Animal Emergency Center of Tulsa, and heavily committed to the football program at Tulsa University.

Dr. Robards is an accomplished marathoner, having completed such prestigious events as the Chicago, Boston and New York marathons as well as the Marine Corps marathon in Washington, D.C. When not training, he can be found golfing, hiking, fly fishing, reading or traveling.

Dr. Robards and his wife, Julie, are the proud parents of three children. Tori, Hattie, and Tate are all involved in sports and other school activities. Golf, gymnastics and basketball top the list as events that their mom and dad must attend. The most recent additions to the family are their pets; Remy, a golden retriever and the family cat, Tinkerbell.
